About
Grounded, compassionate therapy that helps you understand yourself — and your world.
My story

I'm Jarita, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of TherapyMatters KC. My work centers on helping people make sense of emotions, behavior, and patterns through a warm, practical, trauma-informed lens.
Clients come to me when they feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in cycles they can't quite explain. My role is to help you understand what's happening internally and externally — and give you tools that make life feel more manageable.
I am an educator and am passionate about training the next generation of social workers in academic and clinical settings. If you are an LMSW in Kansas looking for clinical supervision, reach out today.
My approach
Clear. Compassionate. Neuroaffirming. Practical.
I don't believe therapy should feel confusing or abstract. I translate complex emotional and behavioral concepts into language and strategies that feel accessible and usable.
My work is:
You'll leave sessions with clarity, direction, and tools you can use immediately.
Who I work with
Human.
Because therapy should feel human, accessible, and grounded.
Seen.
Because you deserve a space where your experiences make sense.
Equipped.
Because healing is easier when you have tools that work.
Supervision
